Paul Potassium (From the English word potash. Potassium's chemical symbol comes from the Latin word for alkali,kalium.)
A little about me-
first isolated in 1807 by sir Humphrey Davy, born from the Earth's crust as minerals.
i am a soft silvery-white metal, i can melt at very high tempters and when i react with water you better be ready for the light show.
Well before potassium was recognized as an element, potassium carbonate was mixed with animal fat to make soap.
potassium was the first metal to be isolated by electrolysis.
The name potassium is from the English word ‘potash’, originally meaning an alkali extracted with water in a pot of ash of burned wood or tree leaves.
potassium being the second less dense metal is soft enough to easily be cut.
i am an acoline medel never found free in nature, i am almost always stored soked in vinager because i react every poorly with oxygen. i am a lilac violet color when i burn.
Potassium atoms have 19 electrons, one more than the extremely stable make up of argon.
Potassium is available in all meats, plants and dairy products. Fruit and vegetables are the best sources of potassium.
All plants need potassium to survive around 90% of all human use potassium compounds is in their manufacture of plants fertilizer.
Freshly cut potassium is silvery in appearance, however it turns gray after being exposed to air.
Potassium chloride is used as a substitute for table salt for people who want less sodium intake in their diet.

Someone confused me and sodium again today! Can you believe it? I mean, we're both alkali metals, and we're both silvery white, but i am a vegetable alkali and she's mineral alkali. didn't we cleared this up in the 18th century?
Tuesday: Hung out with my friends sodium and chlorine and oxygen today and we decided to make KClO3 again. so much fun!

Saturday: today chromium, oxygen and I decided we wanted a little color in our lives we joined together to make potassium chromate.
Sunday: when out side today to get a little bit of sun... it got a little too hot for my liking...
